It’s time for some “Hauru no ugoku shiro/Howl’s moving castle” fan art! Hayao Miyasaki makes beautiful and inspiring animations so I just had to do some fan art. I’ve never got around doing fan art of “Spirited away” or the adorable “My Neighbour Totoro” but “Howl’s moving castle” managed to inspire me enough to get some work done.
This is the wizard Hauru or Howl whatever you like to call him. I saw the original Japanese version so I’m going to call him Hauru. Anyway I really liked him, he’s such a mysterious and good-looking character. Plus he’s a real drama queen too, lol.
I wanted to do my own version of him, so he wouldn’t look like an exact copy of Hauru in the movie, I’m not very good at drawing anime anyway. The clothes look pretty much the same as in the movie besides maybe the jacket, I made too small squares! I don’t know why, probably because I didn’t have any god reference. Kind of stupid of me, more squares means more work. But I really didn’t feel like fixing it, I worked too hard on them already.
I decided to draw him with blonde hair which he has in the beginning of the movie. I think that’s the prettiest version of him. And apparently Hauru think so too, he really freaks out when his hair turns into black.
I must make sure to read the book by Diana Wynne Jones sometime!
YAY! I wuv Howl!!! You've done a wonderful job on his hair, and face!!! Lovely work!

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
